ABOUT SOUND INSULATION

Sound is broken down into two distinct problems. The first is sound transmission through structures e.g. walls or floors. The second is sound reverberation within a room.

PEACE AND QUIET WHERE YOU NEED IT MOST

BRADFORD SOUNDSCREEN REDUCES NOISE BY UP TO 75%

You want your home to be a place where you and your family can relax. A place that's peaceful, quiet and comfortable. A place where you and your family can enjoy yourselves without disturbing or being disturbed by noise from other family members, neighbours or everyday outside noise.

You want a home with 'Quiet Zones' where you can laugh, entertain, read a book, work on the computer, listen to music, or play a game, in complete comfort, peace and quiet. You want Comfort Plus. That's what you get with Bradford SoundScreen Insulation.

THE QUIET ALTERNATIVE

SoundScreen acoustic insulation has been developed as an economical solution for noise control around living rooms, bathrooms, teenage bedrooms and home theater - in fact any room in the house. SoundScreen is installed in internal stud walls and floors to form an added sound barrier to the airborne noise generated within a home. With SoundScreen, you can now choose to create a quieter atmosphere in the rooms you feel you most need it.

THE REASON IS SOUNDSCREEN EFFECTIVENESS

To understand the transfer of sound, an acoustic rating called Weighted Sound Reduction Index (Rw) was developed. Rw ratings are used to measure the effectiveness of noise reduction in different types of construction, the higher the rating the higher the reduction in noise transfer.

The diagram bellow demonstrates how installing SoundScreen in your walls provides an effective barrier between rooms and reduces sound transfer by 6 Rw, or approximately 6 decibels, over a non insulated stud wall.

ACOUSTILAG PIPE INSULATIONpipes2

Flushing toilets. Running showers. Emptying baths. Intrusive noises from service pipes can shatter the reputation of 5-star hotels and diminish the value of home units and office blocks.

Now, CSR Bradford has developed a brand new range of pipe lagging products designed to exceed todays demand for a quieter, more comfortable environment.

Acoustilag products achieve excellent noise reduction by as much as 20 to 26 Db(A).

When Acoustilag is coupled with CSR Gyprock plasterboard and CSR Bradford insulation, the system delivers an effective noise reduction in compliance with the Building Code of Australia's strict noise criteria of STC 30 and STC 45. Higher performance systems are available.

Acoustilag combines CSR Bradford Glasswool insulation with a flexible heavy duty sound barrier faced with CSR Thermofoil.

As a result, you can count on better condensation control wherever your pipe work travels, plus superb fire protection.

Acoustilag conforms to AS 1530.3 (1989) with a 4-Zero fire rating. As well, as you would expect, Acoustilag is resistant to chemicals and vermin.

Thankfully, Acoustilag is easy to install. No special tools are needed; just a sharp knife and CSR 493 Reinforced Foil Tape.

Once installed, you will be enjoying the full protection of the CSR Bradford Insulation Warranty.

So if ever you need help, you won't have to make any noise either.

THE PROOF OF HOW PIPES WILL PIPE DOWN

Acoustilag's Glasswool insulation actually 'decouples' the noise and vibration of the the pipe from the lag

These revolutionary products were tested and proved in a purpose-built noise testing facility at the National Acoustic Laboratories, Sydney.

Our world class research programme proved that Acoustilag will exceed expectations in a variety of applications.

The result:

  • ACOUSTILAG 20
  • ACOUSTILAG 23
  • ACOUSTILAG 26

WAVEBAR SOUND BAFFLE, FLEXIBLE NOISE BARRIER

soundguard

It's common practice in today's office buildings to install acoustic barriers in the ceiling plenum to stop noise transmission from one office to another, via the cavity in the ceiling space.

A typical and more expensive method is using the stud and plasterboard wall. The ceiling cavity is not an easy space to work in and is normally cluttered with pipes, ducts, light fittings, and ceiling support metal work. It's very difficult to get 100% seal.

Made of a special barium-loaded vinyl material, Wavebar Sound Baffle is very flexible and easy to install even in and around awkward places -or drape- or join into mats and enclosures -to greatly reduce noise transmission.

A variant, Wavebar Sound Baffle FL, is manufactured with an aluminium finish.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Wavebar Sound Baffle...

  • is easy to cut and fabricate around pipe penetrations, ducting and cabling
  • boasts high tensile strength
  • is highly resistant to tearing
  • is highly chemical resistant to oils, alkalis and acids
  • enables unusually long vertical drops, providing an economical noise-barrier even when space is limited
  • comes in weights of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 kg/m2
  • on its Wavebar Sound Baffle FL variant, is suited to joining with aluminium-reinforced tape, which can eliminate the need to use adhesives or mechanical fastening

APPLICATIONS

Wavebar Sound Baffle is ideal for:

  • shutting traffic and aircraft noises out of offices and homes
  • portable screens
  • use in partitioning
  • under floor
  • above false ceilings
  • soft enclosures for fans and machines
  • strip curtains
  • use as a sound barrier against the noise of jack hammers, drill rigs, blasting and pile drivers
  • truck and bobcat mats
